Evidence to support your application

Thank you for completing our online form. We will assess your application however will require evidence as outlined below to support your application. This evidence can be emailed to
  • Memorandum of Association or Constitution, which includes an Equal Opportunities statement
  • Proof of exemption from payment of or liability for tax under the provisions of Section 505 of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1988 on the grounds of charitable status (mandatory relief only)
  • Audited Accounts
  • Annual Report and Syllabus of Meetings
Accounts may require to be submitted annually.

I understand that enquiries may be made to verify the information given and that this may include inspection of the property. If awarded relief, I will inform the business rates team of any change in circumstances affecting the amount of business rates payable.

In addition to periodic reviews of entitlement, applicants/beneficiaries must notify the Council of any material changes likely to affect relief. The Declaration incorporates an undertaking to this effect and applicants are warned that retrospective withdrawal of relief is possible (up to 24 months) if investigation reveals that relief has continued in circumstances outwith the Council's qualifying criteria.
